The aim of study was to investigate the effectiveness of an extracurricular program utilizing Sternberg's theory in developing innovative thinking skills among gifted students in an intermediate school in Makkah. The sample of study consisted of 40 students (experimental group 20-control group 20).
An extracurricular training program has been applied, and Torrance's creative thinking test (b) was administered. The data is then analyzed using Mann-Whitney test.
The results of the study indicated that a significant difference was found in the experiment group innovative thinking skill. However, the results of the follow up test indicated that the program was effective in maintaining the program experiences with experimental group students who were subject to training.
